What to do with the ethically challenged?

I’ve been thinking about ethics a lot today.  What do you do when someone treats you in an unethical manner?  I tend to internalize it and move on.  Unfortunately, in this latest incident, I will have to be cordial and have some contact with the person.  I don’t want anyone to get the wrong idea, I’m not an overly sensitive person or anything, but I must admit, it does hurt when someone does something like this.  They play mind games and never had an interest in joining the organization, they already had a sponsor and joined through them or just wanted to play around.  I did nothing wrong, this person obviously has an issue with something and has no guts or verbal skills to tell me, the funniest part is, she said she wants to be a writer.  I wish I was at liberty to say who this person is, and let her account for her actions.  Perhaps I made a mistake and brought this information to the persons in charge of this organization.  I’m not sure that was the right thing to do, but at least it is off my chest and even if they think less of me for it, I will know that I stood up for myself.  I was surfing around a site I found and became really intrigued with character and what makes a good person.  There are “Six Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.”  The people who did me wrong have lost that in my eyes.   I don’t know what should be done with the ethically challenged, the only thing I do know is I will NOT let them shape my world view.  There are good people out there, and they want to support me and my business.

Here I am again!

I’m thinking right now that this whole “Dear Blog” thing is already old.  It’s been about 3 minutes and I’m already fed up with the concept.  I guess that’s my problem, I don’t think things through.  Then I don’t give anything time.  I’m always in a hurry and am disappointed no one has found my blog, except Mr. WordPress of course, and left comments.

 I am constantly feeling like I’m behind the power curve.  I found out about ebay too late, I gave away most of my expensive textbooks before I knew about half.com, I want to write blogs for money but most people are making mucho money already and how would I attract those wonderful people to my blogs? 

I have this in my genes I guess.  It all started when my mother got rid of all my Pele signed Cosmos stuff.  Before anyone thinks a man is posting, I’m a girl, but my father is Brazilian and we went to many of the Cosmos games when I was little.  Who knew that collectibles would be so hot? or that American kids would be playing soccer?  I never did.  Most people had no idea what Brazil was about when I was growing up.  Some Hispanics (I hate that term by the way) thought we spoke some “messed up kind of Spanish”.  I was also much taller than other people I knew, and most male machismo did not like that fact.  So, I always felt kind of awkward even though I shouldn’t have been.

 Well, all that is in the past, this blog is in the present.

I’m a happily married stay at home mother of three beautiful kids (if I do say so myself).  They are my joy and my focus in life.  Most days I am carting them somewhere to play or explore.  Other times we stay home and go for long walks with talks as I like to call them.  My oldest son is five years old and loves to talk, even while he is biking which distresses me at times because it’s hard to talk to someone while they are biking!

I am currently looking into getting my Masters degree in Fine Arts or Library Studies.  It all boils down to money at this point.  The sooner I spend the time to get funding, the sooner I will start.  More on that later.

Dear Blog,

 I’ve decided to attempt to write to ‘my Diary’.  I must admit that I find the whole thing quite strange, that’s why I will “attempt” it.   Why do people write “Dear Diary,”  anyway?  The question is so intriguing that it is now on my to-do list…

 I don’t know the answer yet but most people use a bound notebook or journal but still write the heading to one entity on each page. 

Want to know what else is on my to-do list?  All I will divulge right now is it is all super interesting stuff.  In time, all will be revealed impatient little diary.
